Just a quiet walk to Port Phillip Bay in Middle Brighton sit four dwellings that spark a new architectural conversation.
Contemporary apartments strike a balance between the necessity for private spaces for sleep, for study, rest; and the importance of places for conviviality and connection to the outside world.
Through a melange of concrete, stone and steel, the apartments exist on modern architectural terms.
Rooms harness a large scale through full height windows and doorways with custom joinery and bespoke fittings headed by MIM Design Studio.
Each apartment designed for living with light, with a stone hearth at its heart.
On the upper levels, sleeping quarters take in the morning sun and mature landscape, with exterior boundary walls guarding privacy.
